Used it on both my rug and dog's overgrown fur - works surprisingly well for both! The wooden handle gives good grip, but the vibration at high speed takes some getting used to. The cleaning brush is a nice touch though. 4 stars because the instruction manual could be clearer about maintenance.

After 3 months of heavy use: The metal blades still cut like new after regular oiling (I use sewing machine oil). The 6mm comb is my favorite for standard rugs. Pro tip: Go slow on thick wool - the motor can overheat if you rush. Worth every penny for serious crafters!
